Foundry-grade pure iron lumps (2N-4N purity) are ultra-refined iron billets engineered to serve as the foundational material for high-integrity castings. Unlike conventional foundry pig iron (typically ≤99.9% pure with 3.5–4.5% carbon and trace impurities), these lumps undergo advanced purification processes to achieve >99.95% Fe (4N grade). This eliminates detrimental trace elements (As, Sn, Sb, Bi, Pb, etc.) that cause brittleness, porosity, and fatigue failure in critical cast components.
